About KARP
KARP was founded in 1991 and has since grown to hold up to 5000 members. KARP, Korea’s leading financial information provider, started off by sponsoring undergraduate meetings by providing lectures on futures and options for students interested in financial studies. This progressed to participating in the Han-Kyung Forum for 2 consecutive years and further free lectures on futures and risk management for summer and winter school programmes being provided.
Coming into the new millennium, KARP moved into Korea’s financial institutions with risk management consulting and customised risk-training services. Further events included Korea Option, Swap & Derivatives Association (KOSDA).
KARP has continued to grow in numbers and strength with their efforts to enhance the global competitiveness of Korean financial institutions and this was recognised in 2008 when the Korean government granted KARP the “Organization for Public Good” status. All fees paid to KARP are now given special tax exemption benefits.
