Over recent years, international regulatory bodies such as the Financial Stability Board (FSB), Bank of International Settlements (BIS), and the Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS) have made pronouncements which impact country regulators around the world.

As participants scramble to comply, investors are observing with trepidation. Organisations are increasingly asking how well they are positioned. Also, as the floodgates in Europe have opened and banks are streaming into Asia, it is also important that local regulators have a robust framework of systems and controls to govern the integrity of the sector.
