Each month FRSGlobal’s experts present the latest risk and regulatory hot topics taking place around the world that will impact financial services institutions. Mark Piper, VP UK, Ireland and MEA and our guest speaker, Industry Expert, Lotfi Baccouche delivered this month’s webinar focusing on Solvency II from an industry perspective.

In a frank, interview style discussion Mark asked questions as to where the market is now, the lessons we have learnt on the journey so far and if the future will hold an evolution or a revolution.

The webinar covered topics such as:

  • Is solvency II just a Basel II for insurance companies?
  • What are the biggest obstacles being faced by insurance companies in terms of costs and resourcing required to meet regulations?
  • Should you wait for the new regime to be finalised before implementation starts?
  • QIS5 – is it worth the effort?
  • Are deadlines likely to change?
  • The challenge of solvency II.
  • Modelling of liability risk and asset risk: are you equally proficient in both?
