The November deadline has finally arrived, and of all the legislation to come out of the EU's Financial Services Action Plan over the last five years, it is MiFID that is likely to have the greatest impact on the marketplace as a whole. Transposing the regulation into national law has proved problematic for many of the EU member states. While the FSA has published its policy statement and handbook finalising the UK's MiFID transposition, it looks like few other countries have actually made the deadline.
